Garlic Oil

Garlic Oil

Jasmine Pang, our dear colleague will be leaving us next week Friday
for another company. Will be missing her.
She has asked me how to make this Garlic Oil and being herself who
does not even hold a spatula...is quite blur when I told her all the steps.
Well, I am recording this into my blog for her easy reference.
Take care, dear Jasmine Pang and may your new job is better than this one.

Peel and chopped garlic.
Some corn oil.

Switch on the microwave to High for 7 minutes
or until the garlic slightly turn brown.
Switch off the microwave and let it until cold.
While you are letting the garlic oil cold, the hot oil
still turn the garlic to even more brown.
Now, you can use to sprinkle to your steam bean curd,
steam fish, steam vegetables, dried noodles and etc etc.

Chocolate Rice Butter Cake

Chocolate Rice Butter Cake

I am all alone....with my daughter.
My husband and son has gone to watch Formula 1 in Sepang.
Tickets to Formula 1 is not cheap (RM1,500 per ticket)...
well, as long as both of them having their good time (father and son bonding),
I won't question my husband.
I baked this Chocolate Rice Butter Cake to kill my boredom.

125g butter (at room temperature)
70g caster sugar
2 eggs (at room temperature)
60g chocolate rice
3tbsp whipping cream or milk (at room temperature)
135g self raising flour (shifted twice)

Beat the butter and sugar until fluffy.

Then, pour in egg one at a time and beat.
In between, pour in 1 tbsp of the self raising flour
to prevent the batter become curdle.

Pour in 1/2 of the self raising flour and beat.

Pour in all the whipping cream or milk and beat.
Lastly but not least, pour in the balance of the self raising flour
and beat.

Lastly, pour in the chocolate rice.

Beat only for a short while ONLY.
Do not over beat.

Pour all the batter into a lined or greased baking tray.
Bake for 50 minutes at 190 Degree Celcius or until done.

Once done, take it out from the oven to cool for 15 minutes.

The pictures are not that sharp because I used my Android Mobile
Phone to take those pictures because my husband and son
had taken two cameras to the Formula 1.

Eventhough those pictures are not that sharp.......but
the cake is very tasty, tasty, tasty.

Happy Baking & Eating

Sweet Potato Dessert

Sweet Potato
Either you love or hate it.
I can't find anyone who will hate it because it is anti-ageing
and also can lower high cholesterol.
Today, I cooked it for dessert.
The reason I bought it because when my daughter and I
were having lunch, one old lady came to our table to sell it.
Out of pity, I bought it from her for RM5.00 for one pack.

A few pieces of Sweet Potato (orange flesh).

Scrub and wash the skin.
Then peel off the skin

Cut into cubes.
Remember to peel and cut it without wasting
any time because the sweet potato will turn black on the outer skin.
To prevent the outer skin from turning black,
you can put the cut cubes into water for the time being.

Once the water is boiled, pour all the cut sweet potato
into the pot and boil for 20 minutes or until soften.

Once your sweet potato soften, then pour in sugar and
stir until done.

You can eat it cold or hot.
The choice is yours.
