Stir Fried Potato and Mushroom with Black Pepper

Stir Fried Potato and Mushroom
with Black Pepper
Today is the last day of Puasa Month (Fasting Month) for Muslims.
They will be celebrating Hari Raya tomorrow and my family
and I would like to take this opportunity to wish our Muslim friends
Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri!
During the Puasa Month, our company will close at 4.00 pm and
our lunch of 1 hour will be shortened to 30 minutes.  Since we are not fasting,
it is very difficult to look for food within 1/2 hour.
So, we take turns to bring home cooked food to the office.
This dish was cooked by me on Wednesday night for Thursday's lunch.
Even though this dish is meatless, my colleagues gave me a thumbs up.
As usual, they remind me to list this dish in my blog ;)

I did not weigh these ingredients because I was a bit tired.
I reached home at 8.00 pm and cooked this dish straight away.
By looking at these pictures, I believe you will be able
to estimate it.

1/2 hand full of Spring Onion.
Shimeji Mushroom.
6 Australia Chat Potatoes.
6 cloves of Garlic.

Potatoes - Cut into quarter.
Shimeji Mushroom - Cut the bottom.
Spring Onion - Cut the white part away and cut into 2 inches.
Garlic - Minced.

Potatoes - Cook in salted water, drain and keep aside.

Heat up 2 tablespoon of cooking oil.
Add in minced Garlic, 3 teaspoons coarse Black Pepper and
1 tablespoon Oyster Sauce.

Remember not to burn the Garlic.
Stir until the Garlic slightly brownish.

Add in the Potatoes and Shimeji Mushroom.

Stir for 2 minutes.

Add in 1 tablespoon of Butter and stir until melted.

Add in Spring Onion and stir until well combined.
Add more Black Pepper or salt, if necessary.

Switch off the fire once the sauce is thicken and dry up.

While blogging this, my daughter told me that she secretly steal
some to taste and said it was flavourful.
My colleagues finished off the whole plate.  So happy to know
that they have enjoyed my home cook food.

Stir Fried Asparagus with Prawns

Stir Fried Asparagus with Prawns
Cooking Asparagus ourselves is more economical
compared to eating in the restaurant plus the quantity is more.
This handful of Asparagus cost us only RM15 plus Prawns RM5.
Total cost is RM20....if we eat outside it will be more expensive and
the quantity is also less.

One handful of Asparagus (cut off the end hard part, wash and clean)
14 pieces of Prawns (clean and peel off the shell)
4 cloves of chopped garlic

Get ready the ingredients.

Heat up one tablespoon of cooking oil and stir fry the prawns until
slightly cook and dish out.

Heat up  1 1/2 tablespoons of cooking oil and stir fry the garlic
until slightly brown.

Add in the Asparagus and stir fry for 2 minutes.

Add in 1/4 cup of water and stir fry until cook.

Lastly, add in the prawns and season with salt and pepper and dish out.

Voila...one delicious dish.

Taking this opportunity to wish all Chinese
A Very Happy Chinese New Year

Stir Fry Kailan with Garlic

Stir Fry Kailan with Garlic
Saw the Hong Kong Kailan when I was at the market and quickly bought
it because my family and I love to eat it.  We prefer Hong Kong Kailan
than our local Kailan.  Some known it as Cantonese Kale.

On Friday night, I was alone and bought one packet of "Pan Mee Soup"
for my dinner and to my horror, the stall charged RM4.50 per packet.
I just keep quiet and pay for it.  The stall increased 20 cents BECAUSE
our Government recently increased 20 cents for the petrol.
Where is the logic?  In my heart while walking to my car....aiyoh! heizzz!
cut throat! not logic at all! pity those low income group! and etc etc.
End conclusion .....cook for ourselves (am I right?)
For us to ponder further!

260g Hong Kong Kailan (wash and drain)
6 cloves of Garlic (roughly chopped)

Heat up the wok with cooking oil and fry the garlic until slightly golden brown.

Add in the Hong Kong Kailan and stir fry until cook.
After 2 minutes, add in 1 tablespoon of water.

Stir fry until cook.  Add in some salt and to taste.
Dish up and serve immediately.

Have a good long weekend & holiday
and
Wishing all Malaysian "Happy 1Malaysia".

15 Minutes - Stir Fry Four Angle Beans, French Beans and Long Beans

15 Minutes - Stir Fry Four Angle Beans,
French Beans and Long Beans
My family love this dish, especially my daughter.  She can eat half of this plate.

I am in my late 40s and my daughter is 20 years old.  Whenever my dear
daughter wear a short skirt, my husband will comment "why is your skirt
so short?"  I kept quiet because I know the skirt that she's wearing
belongs to me.  Yeap! you must be in shock that I am still wearing short
skirt. But, it was mine when I was a young adult and I had some
branded short skirt which I've kept until now (did not throw away because it
brings me good memories....those were the days).
Sometimes, I'll say to my husband "it's not that short lah, let her be lah,
as long as the hem of the skirt is not at her butt.  It is short but not mini lah!" .
My dear daughter asked me "why is daddy complaining when mummy
wore like that?"  Told her that you are daddy's daughter and
he doesn't want perverts looking at you lah. LOL   :)
She must be in the confuse mode, Daddy allowed Mummy to wear but
but not her.  For me, I cannot stop her totally because I am also the culprit.

**One handful of Four Angle Beans. (Trim off the side, wash and drain)
**One handful of French Beans. (wash and drain)
**Half handful of Long Beans. (wash and drain)
3 Chili Padi. (wash and drain)

**(Note : cut to your desire sizes and length)

Heat up the wok with cooking oil.

Add in few cloves of garlic and the chili padi and stir fry a few second.

Once your garlic is brown, add in all the cut vegetables.
Stir fry a few minutes or until half cook.
(if you notice the vegetables are a bit dry, add in one tablespoon
of water and stir fry further)

Add in 1/2 tablespoon of chicken stock and stir fry further.

Once the vegetables are cooked, turn off the fire.
Dish out onto serving plate.

Now you have one healthy dish for your whole family for lunch or dinner.
Happy Cooking & Eating.

Meal 1 - Rice, Pan Fried Dried Bean Curd with Fish Paste And Stir Fried Cabbage with Dried Shrimp

Meal 1
Rice, Pan Fried Dried Bean Curd
with Fish Paste And Stir Fried Cabbage
with Dried Shrimp

Once in a while, we do not know what to cook or bake.
Am I right?
The truth is that I bake more than I cook.
I do not have to worry what to cook from Monday to Friday
because my dear mother still cook for us.  Either my husband or
one of my kids will drop by at her house at a specific time to collect our
food.  All those food cooked by her will be put in a tiffin except for the
rice and soup which will be put in a warmer.  I cook only during weekends
or public holiday and it also depends on my moooood.
HahaHa, so bad of me, I just wanted to relax and lazy around during
weekends after my hectic working life from Monday to Friday.
Well, so far, no complaint from my family but I feel that they are
happy if I cook for them.

If you like the above two dishes, just click below for the recipes.

Bon Appetit!

15 Minutes - Stir Fried Long Beans With Broccoli

15 Minutes - Stir Fried Long Beans With Brocolli
Another 15 minutes dish for my dear daughter to bring to work.
Since 10 am I did not utter one single word.  Don't fret out, I am not sick.
Because I am all alone in the house.  Husband went overseas,
son went to college and daughter went to work.  Anyway will be
having dinner with them in the evening.  Later must remember to text
my dear husband that I have washed and cleaned the bathroom
all by myself to kill my boredom while he is away and both my arms hurts.....
:(   meaning that I have not been doing the washing and cleaning of bathrooms
for many years.  All these years, it is the responsibility of my husband.
He is fanatic of cleanliness.....well, it is a good thing for me because
I do not have to do this tiring work   :)   ...he he he

Half handful of Long Beans - Wash.
Small size of Broccoli - Wash.

Cut the Long Beans into small pieces.
Cut the Broccoli in small pieces.

Heat up the wok with cooking oil.
Once heated up, pour in the Broccoli and cook for 1 minute.

Then pour in the Long Beans and cook further another 2 minutes.

Pour in half cup of water and cook the Broccoli with Long Beans push
at one side because Broccoli takes longer to cook. Once you notice or
tested that the Broccoli is cooked, then push back the Long Beans
to the Broccoli and cook further for 1 minutes.

Pour in 3/4 tablespoon of Oyster Sauce.

Stir fry for a short while or until all cooked and then dish out.

Since I am cooking all these foods for my daughter to bring to work,
I think I am going to cook more for me to bring to work.
Something for me to ponder further since today I am all alone.
Have a nice wonderful weekend.

Stir Fried Mushroom with Long Bean,
Ladies Finger and French Bean
This delicious sumptuous dish is for my dear daughter Sunday meal.
She is one happy daughter having cooked food to bring to work
these past few days.  This dish is one of her favourite foods.
Very easy to cook.  Whatever inside the fridge, I just clean, cut
and cook for her.  No need to look for recipe.

One handful of Ladies Finger - Clean and cut.
One handful of French Beans - Clean and cut.
One handful of Long Beans - Clean and cut.
One handful of Mushrooms - Clean and cut the bottom only.

Cleaned and cut vegetables and mushrooms.

Heat up the work with 1/2 tablespoon of cooking oil.
Once heated up, pour in all the vegetables except for the mushroom.

Less than 2 minutes, pour in 1/2 cup of water and cook further another 2 minutes.

Then pour in the mushroom.

Stir fry until cooked.

Pour in 3/4 tablespoon of Oyster Sauce and cook further.
Once done, turn off the fire and dish out.

Before my daughter bring to work, she already eaten 1/3 for her
breakfast.  Ok lah, I think it is still enough for her lunch since there will
be one apple inside her lunch bag.

My dear husband told me not to over work my body because
weekend is my rest days.  Told him that I cannot turn down request from
my dear daughter and moreover all these dishes are just "15 Minutes Food".
"Very Easy Job Compare to my Office Work"

Looking at all these foods inside a nice lunch paper bag,
sure you will have a big appetite.
(This is what my dear daughter said)
Happy Cooking!
