Fried Rice With French Beans and Carrots

Fried Rice With French Beans And Carrots

Cooked this dish last Sunday....lazy, tired and do not know what to cook
and came out this idea since I have those ingredients
hyphenating inside my fridge.
Lazy and tired from last Saturday trip (day trip) to Malacca
with my lovely colleagues, Stephanie Chua, Elly Chong and Jessie Chen.
All of us had wonderful day shopping, eating and talking nonsense.
We also managed to visit our dearie ex-colleague Ooi Poh Meng in Seremban,
while we were on the way back home to Kuala Lumpur.

Cooked rice (preferably overnight).
4 eggs.
Handful of French Beans - Wash and drain.
1 carrot - Wash and drain.

Eggs - Beaten with 1/2 teaspoon pepper and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
French Beans - Dice.
Carrot - Dice.

Heat the wok with high fire.
Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of salt and stir for a short while.
(According to my mother, the fried rice taste better by doing this way)

Pour in the diced carrot and stir fry for 2 minutes.

Then pour in the diced carrot.

Stir fry until cooked.

Then pour in the cooked rice.

Stir fry until combined and until the rice is hot.
Once you can hear the sound like the rice is jumping up........
then, pour in the beaten eggs.
(According to my mother in law, by hearing the sound like
the rice is jumping up...our body won't be heaty after eating the fried rice)

Stir the beaten eggs until well combined and cooked.
And lastly, dish out!!!

Don't you love to eat it!!!
Simple and delicious dish.

Drained Salted Vegetables (Choy Poh).
Cut Spring Onion.

Once done, let it cool at room temperature.

Sprinkle the Steamed Yam Cake with those garnishing.
Isn't it is lovely to eat....yummy......with sweet sauce or chilli.

My husband said the texture is a bit hard and my kids said ok.
Tomorrow, will blog the comment from my sister in law
and colleague.
(Comment from my sister in law and colleagues - taste good
but a bit hard....so my conclusion for next try....cut down the
Wheat Flour to 80g)

To me.....soft or a bit hard....I am ok to it because the taste
is better than outside store.

Barley Lime Drink

Barley Lime Drink

All of us had ordered this drink before whenever we're in the Coffee Shop
while having our breakfast, lunch or dinner.

My dear daughter ordered this drink at a posh restaurant and
said that this drink is nice. So gullible of her to say that because
this drink is the easiest drink to make.
Then I told her, just add lime to the barley drink....simple as A B C.
Made this the next day for her.

One packet (100 g) of Pearl Barley.
Few lime.
- Wash and drain the Pearl Barley.
- Wash and cut the lime into half.

Pour water into your pot to 3/4.
Pour in the Pearl Barley.
Switch on to high fire and cook.

Remember, Remember to watch over the fire
because once the water is boiled, it will spill out and
make the mess out of your stove.
Once it is boiled, lift up the cover or cover 3/4 of the pot, and
switch the fire to medium and boil for another 1/2 an hour.

Switch off the fire and pour in the sugar, stir and taste while
pouring in the sugar. Sweetness is up to individual.
Let it cool for 1 hour or more and then squeeze in the lime.

Pour into your desired glass, put in some ice cubes
and drink, drink, drink.......
:) This is my daughter face when she was drinking it.

Note : My mother told me that this drink clear the heartiness in our body.

Sardine Sandwich

Sardine Sandwich
Last week, my dear husband asked me to make
and as usual....I was lazy to make it for him and
yesterday he brought it up again and I have no
choice but to make it for him for this morning's breakfast.

1/2 can of sardine in tomato sauce.
2 pieces of lime.
White or wholemeal bread...choice is yours.
Slices of cucumber or tomato.

Cut the lime into half and squeeze the lime juice into
the sardine and mash the sardine with fork.
(Remember to take out the lime seed)

Some like to put in cut chilli and cut onion.....my husband and I do not like it,
we prefer THE original taste of the sardine.....again, choice is yours.

Place some slices of cut tomato on top of the bread and
spread another piece of bread with the sardine.
Fold both bread and cut diagnostically and serve.

I can see my husband face lighted up upon seeing the
sardine sandwich.
;)
